Rooted at Home.

Growing Together.

The Homeschool Village supports and connects homeschool families and providers.  We believe families lead learning best at home, and strong communities make that journey even stronger. Come grow with us!

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

  • Power: The strength and ability to endure challenges.

  • Love: The capacity to care for others unconditionally.

  • A Sound Mind (or Self-Discipline): A calm, clear, focused mind to use good judgment & make wise decisions without impulsivity.

Building deep, meaningful community takes courage and intentionality. The Village can help with providing classes and opportunities to meet each other and build relationships, which we all need and are called to!

Attend our events or connect and brainstorm with me about how we can help build an opportunity in your community!

About Me

I’ve been a homeschool mom for over 20 years, walking through both the beauty and the hard, messy parts of this journey. Along the way, I’ve had the joy of mentoring, supporting, and learning from other families as they figure out what truly works for their kids and for them. I'll walk this path with you, whether it's just to collaborate to find clarity and a new plan, or for those tough times when things feel especially complicated or unclear.

My Story & Background

I’m the founder of Journey Co-op and West Michigan Homeschoolers, where I’ve loved creating spaces for connection and community among both families and providers. With a background as an engineer and educator, I naturally enjoy ideas, systems, and designing meaningful classes and curriculum—but more than anything, I love to come alongside families to listen, encourage, and explore opportunities for your homeschool.

A Heart for Unique Learners

I’m especially passionate about helping parents find the right educational fit and helping kids discover how God has gifted them. Paths and destinations can differ for each of your children, for a kiddo that meets challenges well or for one that struggles just a bit more. For neurotypical students (and parents) or for neurodivergent or unique situations. At the end of the day, I’m a mom, wife, Mimi, friend, and child of God who simply wants to come alongside you and help make the path forward feel clearer and more doable.

What Families Are Saying

"Several years back, I was led to homeschool our three children. Pulling them from public school in middle school was a scary and exciting time. Diane provided me with guidance, reassurance, and many resources  that first season. I spent three years homeschooling then entered them back into public school with so many great memories, experiences, relationships and an education they could've never had without our homeschooling years. Diane is an invaluable resource and cheerleader with a parenting lifetime of homeschooling experience and heart of gold. "  ~ Michelle A.

“Diane has a ton of knowledge about homeschooling and really understands the technical, logistical, and practical sides of it. She encourages moms to make homeschooling their own instead of worrying about the status quo. She’s easy to talk with, deeply caring, and a steady help along this journey.” ~ Marie C.
